Kumquat: AI-Powered Food Journal

Log meals the way you'd say them. Type "two eggs, coffee with milk, and a caesar salad" and Kumquat parses it into a full log with calories and macros — no searching, no scrolling through databases, no fuss.

Data syncs straight to Apple Health. It’s genuinely private. Your data lives on your device, not on our servers. We never upload, sell, or share your logs.

Fast, private, and smart enough to do the boring part for you.

Privacy Policy & EULA

Last updated: June 17, 2026

Kumquat is built privacy-first. Your food, weight, and medication logs are stored locally on your device and secured with iOS encryption. We never collect, access, or store your personal data on our servers.

Apple Health: With your permission, weight and food data can sync to Apple Health, controlled by you and managed under Apple's terms. You can revoke this anytime in iOS Settings.

Internet use: The only feature that uses the internet is food matching. If a food isn't in the built-in library, the app sends an anonymous food query to the Open Food Facts database to find a match. Only the food query is sent — never your weight, medication, or personal logs. Entries may also be interpreted by Apple's on-device Foundation model, which runs locally. Open Food Facts is an independent third party with its own terms.

We do not: collect analytics, track users, show ads, or share your data with third parties.

Permissions: Apple Health and Notifications are optional. No location, camera, or photo access required.

Your control: Delete data anytime in the app. Deleting the app removes data stored on your device (data already in Apple Health is managed via the Apple Health app). No account or login required.

Children's privacy: Compliant with COPPA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

License: Your use of Kumquat is governed by Apple's standard End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula)

Changes: We may update this policy and will update the "Last updated" date here.
